ICT-Solutions for an Ageing Society (I-stay@home)
Start date: Jan 16, 2011, End date: Sep 29, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

I-stay@home is an initiative and a cooperation of organizations from the social and public housing sector or working in close cooperation with this sector. which deal with the theme of demographic change since some recent years. The participating social and public housing associations are active on behalf of their municipality and strive to prevent or mitigate the negative consequences of the demographic change and meet the aspirations of citizens for a long independent life in the elder age or with disability. All these partners feel committed to this social mission for years and have collected different experiences in this regard. All partners see for the first time the chance to work out a blueprint of common solutions. based on experiences and best practices. In the project the present experiences will be collected. pooled and transferred into a trans-national unity which is reflected in a common ICT platform and common technology that ultimately every citizen comes to good. The use of such ICT based solutions (eg intelligent monitoring systems) takes place only slowly. Potential interested people or clients (the technical affine elderly but also their relatives) und the companies itself are unable to present an adequate market overview. This applies at national level. let alone European. Therefore there is the need for 1. Providing the necessary knowledge 2. Promoting the dialogue with experts 3. Offering an IT platform which allows the use of intelligent devices cost –effectively and efficiently. Each of the tenants of the participating partners and in the future each individual interested citizen will quickly offered an overview of current solutions and at the best. identify the local service providers. Achievements: After researching the European market for assistive ICT technology and contacting more than 500 product providers for participation, 114 were eager to participate. After answering an extensive questionnaire, I-stay@home published a product catalogue of those volunteering providers with basic information about available assistive ICT products. This catalogue can be accessed online in four languages (Enlish, French, Dutch, German) and can be enlarged by new providers anytime.
