I3 (Informatics, Innovation, Incubation) & Crossborder Clustering
(I3CT Crossborder Clustering)
Start date: Aug 31, 2011,
End date: Dec 30, 2012
The project looks at promoting a knowledge-based economy through the close cooperation and networking of all the relevant stakeholders (academia, SMEs, innovation and development agencies). The activities include research on innovation potential of the region, development of a trilingual ICT e-learning course, study tours, B2B events and stakeholder workshops on both sides of the border, implemented with shared methodology. A database of experts and technologies, as well as a web-based networking platform will be developed within the project, all contributing to the new clustering initiatives that are expected to follow the implementation of the project. The established network will result in a number of synergies that will have a long-term positive impact on the sustainable knowledge-based development of the bordering region. Achievements: The project recognised the enormous potential of the ICT sector in the cross-border region and built on that to initiate the establishment of a cross-border cross-sectoral network, connecting various actors from the region: businesses, universities, cluster initiatives, innovations centres. The matchmaking, business meetings, presentations and conferences organised within the project served as a platform for tighter co-operation and for the promotion of the cross-border area as a unifi ed region of high-technology businesses, creating the basis for joint marketing eff orts.
