The project establishes co-operation between two schools developing an exchange programme with emphasis on exchanging best practices between the employees and culture based heritage, including each-other’s language, between the pupils. The innovative feature of the project is the open-air approach to teaching, i.e. awareness-raising about environmentally friendly approach to learning and to life in general. Achievements: The joint programme of the two border towns was centered around promoting active learning and connections to nature. In several turns the children from both sides took part in diff erent activities. Guided tours of the river Drava, excursions with carriages, bicycle tours through the border region were paired with learning about the region and with practical exercises in digital mapping and various local crafts. The exchange programme is a foundation for further similar cooperation between the two communities
