Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) has been vanguard of European Studies in Korea since its inception back in 1954. In 2011, HUFS launched EU Centre, supported by the European Commission.EU and Korea commemorated 50th Anniversary in 2013. Between the two parties, important steps forward have been marked with upgrading Framework Agreements (FA), successful completion of Free Trade Agreement and accomplishing Strategic Partnership (SP). HUFS Jean Monnet Chair proposes two interrelated courses: EU-Korea Relations Seminar (EUKORS) and Interdisciplinary Seminar to European Integration Studies (InterSEIS). For EU-Korea Relations Seminar, professionals are invited to team taught procedure in fulfilling the spirit of industry-university cooperation. In terms of InterSEIS, several scholars are to be joined to the teaching in that it will make a genuine understanding of the European Union from diverse angles. In undergraduate programme, half of the course will consist in lecture and in second half, students are invited to write a small paper. In terms of graduate seminar, every year thematic approach will be presented: i.e. for InterSEIS, environment, energy, youth unemployment etc., while for EUKORS, the seminar will be divided by sections with politics, economy, socio-culture and science and technology. Students should prepare a research project. Besides, colloquium and workshop are used for the deeper understanding of the subject matter.The work programme will be conducted in terms of the activities proposed, including reference to the appropriate phases for preparation, implementation, evaluation, follow-up and dissemination. HUFS Jean Monnet Chair is certainly going to promote and facilitate European studies not only of the host institution but also of national and regional levels, since international relation perspective and multidisciplinary dimension will enhance and be added value to the better understanding of the European integration.
