How to organise adapted EVS for VIP's?

The project "How to organize adapted EVS for VIP's?" is a training course organised and hosted by VIEWS International. The project aimes to prepare ngo's active in the youth field for setting up adapted EVS projects for the visual impaired young people. The activities of the project will take place from 13th till 19th of December 2011 (6 working days + 1 travel day) to Liège, Belgium, with partners from 8 european countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania and Turkey (two participants from each country). The participants are with and without visual impairment; each participant with visual impairment will be accompanied by a support staff. The participants, youth workers/project managers/ex-EVS volunteers, have to be aged over 18 years old, and they have to have experience in the youth field and of non-formal education. The activities will present both the general part of creating an EVS project (EI, application forms, report forms) and the adaptations that VI has made in order to adapt the general framework of EVS to the needs of vip (mobility trainings, daily living skills classes, adapted language classes, materails adaptations, reinforced mentorship,...) trough active methods like working in small groups, debate, sharing personal experiences, ...). Experts, external speakers, facilitators (from Belgium, Romania, Bulgaria and Spain) will also be invited to share their knowledge. After the training, the participating organisations, must be able to develop at least one adapted EVS project.
