How to Compete for the Source of Funds of EU?

The main goal of the project was to introduce SMEs to the funding system, tenders and project proposal development, as well as to strengthen SMEs through a training program which would enable them to be more successful in preparing projects for EU funding. The final goal of the initiative was to stimulate growth for raising living standards and to decrease unemployment in the Somogy and Virovitica-Podravina counties. Successful applications for EU funding, resulting from training on project proposal development, helps strengthen the companies and significantly improves their position. Another objective of the project was to encourage cross-border cooperation between partners in the project, as well as between companies involved in the implementation of the project. Achievements: 7 training sessions in 6 locations were held during the course of the project, involving 102 participants. The training program, accompanied by a number of supporting events, enabled both the Foundation and the participating SMEs to close deals and begin professional cooperation. The training curriculum formed during the course of the project was finally collected and published as a series of handbooks. The training also encouraged new forms of cooperation and economical ties were even established following the conclusion of the training sessions and through trade fairs organized in the region.
