This project was born during the meetings of the work group "CAP 35100" from Padua, a group of public and private organisations for the improvement of the services for disadvantaged and homeless adults. CAP 35100 is memebr of the Italian network Fio.PSD (Italian Federation for homeless people) and during a training organised by Fio.PSD, CAP 35100 had the chance to meet AEIPS and its experience with the adult education approach called Housing First. This approach is an innovative adult education approach and is actually implemented by AEIPS with the cooperation of University of Lisbona and professor Ornelas. CAP 35100 has the willing to develop and implement a project of Housing First on the local territory of Padua and this is the reason why the member of CAP 35100 have been meeting for two years. The adult educators of CAP 35100 have the need to see and gain experience in a project of Housing First, in order to understand the characteristics. The objectives of this project are:- to develop competences of educators in order to innovate the quality of their work with homeless and disadvantaged people;- to widen the knowledge and comprehension of politics and practices of Portugal regarding social housing and education for this target;- to use this project as a step toward the implementation of a common project among different organisations in Padua that deal with the education and empowerment of homeless and disadvantaged people, like University of Padua, social enterprises and municipality (Municipality of Padua as well as local health system are part of the CAP 35100);- to find or share funding opportunities to fund similar projects (even outside European programs).Participants will be ten.
