In order to contribute to the development of European civic education (ECE) in Liguria primary and secondary schools, HOPEurope2’s main aim is to: i) enforce the results of the previous edition of the project making stronger the work done with secondary schools and ii) wide the action toward the primary schools of the territories. The goal of the project remains the educational and innovative training, combining the European perspective of the regional and local realities in the light of the major contemporary challenges and revive the “hope” in Europe as a political project not only of coexistence between peoples and nation states but of common construction of the future. Faced with a global ecological, economic, social, political and cultural crisis, the European integration process is a fundamental milestone for constructing a peaceful future for mankind.HOPEurope2 will target the following concrete objectives:- to involve the primary school system in the province of Genoa in the topic concerning the building of a first European citizenship;- to provide a large number of students and teachers throughout Liguria secondary school system with scientific tools in order to understand the EU system and make aware of the potentiality of the European citizenship and of more relevant problems and issues concerning European and global present crisis;- to propose innovation and strengthening of European education enhancing the diversity of belonging, unity in diversity and the principle of subsidiarity as prerequisites in today’s global environment to ensure development, improving the quality of life and full effectiveness of the European contribution to world peace;- to stimulate reflections, proposals, projects in secondary schools about the EU’s role in the world.
