History, tradition and environment as a tourist route in the small cross-border municipalities of Eastern Veneto and Slovenia.  (TRA.VE.SLO)
Start date: Jul 30, 2006, End date: Nov 29, 2006 PROJECT  FINISHED

The project aims at promoting a thematic tourist route through the enhancement of its most peculiar features of the partner municipalities and connected with their history, traditions and environment. The peculiarity of this initiative lies in the creation of a network among several municipalities to develop a single eco-sustainable tourism pattern. The activities organized in the framework of the programme include the historical re-enactment and the costume representation of crafts related to wine making and wheat-grinding - that took place at the mill of Villa Pasqua di Belfiore, at Pramaggiore. A preliminary historical research was carried out on the evolution of wineand bread-making from the Middle Ages till today. Similar activities were carried out at the mill of Stalis, in Gruaro, with a research on the mill from the origins to the present day. In the municipality of Cinto Caomaggiore a conference was organized to present the initiative, with an exhibit of photographs, images and thematic maps of the typical local sites. Moreover a historical research was carried out on the social and economic context which, in 1500, favoured the development of the Anabaptist movement within the rural community of Cinto Caomaggiore. Additional dissemination actions required the publication of multi-language information material, the appearance of specific news in the local newspapers, as well as the organisation of a conference to present the various project initiatives.
