Objectif général :Le projet DOC EXPLORE a pour but de valoriser les liens culturels et historiques existants des deux côtés de la Manche en facilitant l'accès et la compréhension de documents historiques clés. DOC EXPLORE est un "avant-projet" dont l'objectif est de déboucher sur un projet de trois ans. Le projet global (avant-projet + projet de trois ans) vise à mettre en place un outil informatique interactif permettant à un large public d'explorer et d'analyser les documents historiques. Ainsi, une gamme d'outils de consultations de documents sera développée, selon trois types d'utilisation de complexité croissante.Principales actions :- Etat de l’art et ciblage des besoins applicatifs : étude et spécification de la gamme de scénarios que le système devra traiter et identification des sources documentaires à intégrer dans le démonstrateur.- Développement des spécifications techniques : spécification du cadre de travail générique pour une plateforme de traitement qui pourra intégrer les outils interactifs permettant de gérer une large gamme de tâches d’analyse de documents.- Développement d’un démonstrateur : logiciel de démonstration intégrant les fonctionnalités de base pour améliorer l’accessibilité aux documents historiques.----------------Main objective :The DOC EXPLORE project aims to enhance cultural and historical links present on both sides of the Channel by facilitating the access and understanding of major historical documents. DOC EXPLORE is a pre-project intended to lead to a 3-year project. The whole project (pre-project + 3-year project) aims to create an interactive software tool allowing a large public to explore and analyze historical documents. In this respect, a range of consultation tools will be developed, following 3 types of use of increasing complexity.Main actions :- Background investigation and application requirements specification: study and specification for the range of scenarios which the overall system should encompass, and identification of documentary sources to be integrated to the demonstrator.- Development of technical specifications: specification of the generic framework for a processing platform able to support the implementation of interactive tools managing a wild range of document analysis tasks- Demonstrator implementation: software system incorporating basic functionalities identified for the exploration of historical documents Achievements: Principales réalisations / résultats : - 1 rapport sur les spécifications techniques réalisé.- 1 logiciel de démonstration mis en place.- 2 démonstrations publiques du système réalisées.- 1 communiqué de presse publié par l’Université du Kent sur l’exposition publique à la Cathédrale de Canterbury.- 1 communiqué de presse publié par l’Université de Rouen sur l’exposition publique au Salon du Livre Ancien.----------------Main achievements :- Realization of a report on technical specifications- Implementation of a demonstration software- 2 public demonstrations realized- Publication of a press release by the University of Kent about the public exhibition at the Canterbury Cathedral- Publication of a press release by the University of Rouen about the public exhibition during the Salon du Livre Ancien (Antiquarian Book Fair)
