Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

This was a complicated year for our exchange program because although we hoped to have a larger interest in exchanges by the students the international political instability seemed to hinder many from applying to the program. We also had 2 students (which would have given us 12 students) that dropped out rather late in the program and we were unable to replace them. We did meet our objective of a minimum of 8 students participating in the ERASMUS program and over 12 others going abroad with other partners. Students from all three of our major areas-Design, Art and Graphic Design- of study participated although the interest from Design was a bit lower this year due to an interest on the part of the students to do a professional training rather than a study exchange. Unfortunately we only have been able to obtain 1 professional exchange to be funded each year and so this is quite a challenge for us to decide which student will profit from this grant. The majority of students had specific school projects that led them to choose the schools that they studied at which then led to excellent experiences both culturally as well as academically. We reget that more of our students are not interested in studying in the UK which we have been able to recently sign agreements with but either due to the language and/or high living rates, many are unable to apply to the schools. We are eagerly awaiting a decision by the European Commission to know if after the BREXIT these schools will still be funded within the Erasmus program or if we will need to have other agreements with the schools.
