Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Since the opening of the Erasmus project to the AFAM institutions, the Conservatorio di Bologna has always contributed to the most important European mobility program contributing to the construction of a common awareness in all European citizens. Our Conservatorio has made noteworthy efforts to host students and teachers and, lately, even members of the administrative staff of other institutions and to give our students and neo-graduates the opportunity to improve their education, also from a linguistic point of view, building future skilled professionals with an international experience aiming at increasing their employment potential. The participation to the Erasmus project offers the teachers and not only the opportunity of a professional growth deriving from the educational and methodological debate and from the development of new artistic projects. In addition it gives the opportunity to examine in depth the comprehension of the politics on the educational subject in order to make a personal contribution to the internationalization of the Institute. During academic year 2015/2016 the Conservatorio di Musica “G.B. Martini” has realised n. 18 “outgoing mobilities” and n. 8 “incoming mobilities” assigned as follows: - Students mobility for study (SMS) n. 7 outgoing mobilities and n. 3 incoming mobilities; - Students mobility for internship (SMP) n. 1 incoming mobility; - Teachers mobility for teaching (STA) n. 9 outgoing mobilities and n.3 incoming mobilities - Staff mobility for education (STT) n. 2 outgoing mobility and n. 1 incoming mobility 19 students (7 males and 12 females) have taken part in the announcement concerning the Students mobility for study; the 42% belonging to the String and bow instruments Department; the 26% belonging to the New technologies and musical languages Department; the 16% belonging to the Percussion and keyboard instruments Department; the 5% belonging to the Woodwinds instruments Department and the 5% belonging to the Singing and musical theatre Department. Among these, 7 students (4 females and 3 males) were accepted by one of the foreign Institutes to which they had applied and had the opportunity to spend there a period of approximately 7 months and 14 days obtaining a total of 280 training credits. Concerning the incoming students, the Conservatorio welcomed 3 Erasmus students. We would like to remark the fact that usually students applying to Conservatori in general struggle with being accepted as they often need individual lessons which are quite expensive for the Institute itself. For the first time our Conservatorio provided the opportunity for an internship mobility. Yet the announcement, which raised interest in the students, saw the presentation of only one application that was later withdrawn and the student himself renounced mobility. Despite the announcement had been published on the website, on the students Albo and its publishing had been advertized also on social networks pages, the students decided that it would be more suitable for them to postpone to the following year their potential participation. For this reason we expect a better result for this academic year. Regarding teachers, compared to the previous year, a slight decrease of the number of mobility took place, also due to the unstable international panorama. 12 teachers participated in the announcement for mobility for teaching and n. 9 mobilities were realised (7 teachers: 1 female and 6 males). Unlike students, teachers who mainly apply for Erasmus + belong to Classics Departments and only one belong to the New technologies and musical languages Department. The announcement for the staff mobility has seen the participation of the Erasmus + coordinator who realized 2 mobilities to discuss with the partners bureaux and decide the better solutions to adopt. This has also been crucial in terms of consolidating relations. Many of the experiences realised by the teachers produced works and other collaborations like concerts and Master Classes subsidised by the host institutions and participations as members of the jury for significant international competitions. The participation to the Erasmus + project is strongly supported by our Institution which considers it a crucial way to widen one’s learning and professional perspectives.
