Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The support of international cooperation and further involvement of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (hereinafter UJEP) within projects of international cooperation is a part of Long-term Goals 2011-2015 and UJEP Strategy for the years 2010 – 2020. The mobility is an integral part of UJEP education activities. For that reason, one of the aims of UJEP in the field of internationalization, according to the Erasmus Policy Statement UJEP (hereinafter EPS), is to partake in projects focused on mobility into activities offering a scope of varieties in foreign sojourns for both, students together with workers. The target of the project No. 2015-1-CZ01-KA103-012961 was to be involved in all supported activities and realize 232 mobilities in total, out of which 170 students´ and 62 employees´ mobilities. The students and employees of all UJEP faculties took part in the project. The students of all study cycles were involved, 168 students of them travelled for the study stays and 49 students including recent graduates realized their traineeships. The students from disadvantaged social-economic environment were also included. Teaching sojourns were carried out by 75 academics and 26 employees participated in trainings. The project aims were fulfilled. According to a goal of UJEP to decrease the difference between the number of outgoing and incoming students, 136 foreign students were accepted. For the purposes of deepening current contacts and establishing new cooperation links, UJEP organized the 1st Staff Week in April 2016 for the employees of foreign higher education institutions. 14 participants from 11 foreign higher education institutions in 5 countries took part in this event. Realized mobilities were contributions for both, individual mobility participants and the entire UJEP. The students have widened their professional knowledge while studying abroad, met different teaching systems and new teaching methods. Traineeships abroad have been helpful in deepening students´ professional knowledge and skills as well as in practical appliance of theoretical knowledge acquired during the studies. With stays abroad, students have improved their language skills and learnt about cultures in other countries. All together has attributed to their personal growth and improved the quality of their competitiveness on the job market. Due to their travels abroad, also the employees have extended their professional contacts and acquired new knowledge of their fields and thereafter can apply it in their professional activities and improve their teaching activities as well as control other departments of UJEP. Foreign mobilities have intensified further cooperation, e.g. in scientific and research branches or in improving qualification within the pedagogues´ habilitation and professorship designation. The studies of foreign students at UJEP and lectures given by foreign academics have contributed to creating multicultural environment at UJEP and have had influence on members of the academia who have not partaken in the mobilities. The increasing of the number of foreign students motivates further UJEP students to engage in the activities of the voluntary organisation Erasmus Student Network. It helps to improve the quality of the services provided foreign mobility participants. The activities within the frame of the project have contributed to fulfilling goals of UJEP in terms of internationalization and have offered base conditions for further cooperation between UJEP and foreign institutions.
