Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Lycée Cantau has been holding an Erasmus charter for several years and has entertained a long tradition of international cooperation, with students carrying out internships abroad every year since 25 years.. The variegated trainings that are taught in the school focus on construction, civil engineering, energy and space design. Most students’ researches for a placement have been carried out in England, Spain, Ireland and Germany, countries with whom we have contacts that allow us to ensure some satisfactory follow-up of our students. For the school year 2015/16, the school’s aim was to increase the number of overseas internships among our first year students. That’s why the school applied for 5 placements abroad. During the first term of year 2015, the students were informed of the possibility that was given to them to carry out a placement abroad, and of the way those placements were organised. 10 students applied, 5 were selected by their teachers : 2 first year Cooling Engineering Higher National certificate students have carried out their compulsory work experience in 2 companies in England : - CBRE Deutsche bank welcomed Souhell Dol who worked on the maintenance of ice-cool water for Air treatment units and conditioners. - EPCS in Leeds allowed Stéphane Larronde to discover manufacture, assembling and installation of condensing units. 2 first year Heating Engineering Hnc students have also carried out their work placement in England : - Adrien Hacquet worked in Solarsense, located next to Bristol, where he mainly took part in installation and maintenance of thermophotovoltaic panels at both individual and industrial customers'. - Buro Happold Engineering in Bath asked Lucas Rigaud to work on a HVAC project for Land Rover premises, thanks to which he has been able to better his skills on Cad and Revit software. 1 first year Space Design Hnc student, Estelle SAEZ, carried out her internship at Lloyd Evans Prichard in Manchester. This architectural firm is specialised in historical buildings and works in the field of heritage conservation. It also deals in developing residential areas. Estelle integrated a team of architects and designers whose fields included conservation, restoration, building design and conservation planning. She could put into practice a good deal of her theoretical knowledge, and learnt a lot about methods being used in England.
