Higher education student and staff mobility projec..
Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015,
End date: Sep 30, 2016
The Protestant University of Freiburg successfully participated in the EU-programme Erasmus + for mobility support for higher education with programme countries (key action 1) in the academic year 2015/16. We have operated the programme lines SMS and ST (STA and STT); for the programme line SMP we participated via the consortium KOOR-BEST of the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, steering SMP for the Baden-Württemberg Universities of Applied Sciences.
Our specific aims of promoting mobility have been achieved.
We were able to achieve 15 student mobilities (SMS) successfully; which is one mobility less than last year. 3 more students had already been nominated for a semester stay in Turkey, but cancelled their plans due to a changed security situation in Turkey. We had been granted 13 SMS mobilities.
In the area of non-teaching staff mobility (STT) we were able to successfully complete all 5 approved mobilities; this figure remained stable over the previous year.
In the area of teacher mobility (STA) we received with 13 successfully implemented teaching mobilities a clear increase over the previous year (then 10).
2 of the teaching mobilities (STA) were incomings from different companies and institutions.
In the field of teaching mobility, we were able to successfully convey a lecturer for the first time at a partner university. 3 of the number 13 teaching mobilities had been label mobilities. Nestled in personnel development measures throughout the university two administrative employees could be sent to advanced training at partner universities for the first time.
The demand and the realisation of student exchange mobility has perpetuated with respect to many potential target universities. All SMS mobilities accounted for the country categories 1 and 2. We had determined fixed daily or monthly rates at the beginning of the academic year and we paid 80% of the sum at the beginning of the mobility. Two of the SMS mobilities were label mobilities (these students were given a Baden-Württemberg scholarship).
We have spent our OS means wisely, inter alia, by having made a transfer to the, due to its incline in number, previously underfunded STA mobility category. We have also made some transfers by OS on SMS in order to be able to offer sufficient attractive daily or monthly rates for student mobility. We mainly promoted mobility with the remaining OS means, focused on both language support measures, as well as on good preparation and support of mobile students, lecturers and administrative staff.
