Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Academy of Performing Arts in Prague is involved in the Erasmus program since the beginning of its implementation in the Czech Republic, i.e. since 1998/99. In the process of internationalising university level art school is the Erasmus project at key importance. All activities in the frame of Erasmus programme make possible creative encounters across various cultures, their mutual inspiration and the permeability of knowledge and information, which at present is a fundamental prerequisite for understanding and friendly coexistence. The school has succeeded in realising the planned mobility in all offered categories and in the planned numbers. Employees depart for teaching and training as well. Students depart both on study visits and traineeships. It is particularly important to send students in the higher class years, as the school ensures that another prerequisite for a quality experience abroad is solid domestic academic and creative experience, which in turn will enable comparisons and further inspiration. The school has long succeeded in enhancing awareness of the Erasmus programme. Students take it upon themselves to pass on their experience to their younger classmates, highlighting the positive aspects of internationalisation and the undisputed benet of mobility for further personal and creative development. This also includes „internationalisation at home”, thanks to the presence of foreign students at the school. Czech and foreign students meet, form creative teams and collaborate on joint projects. The foreign experience of pedagogues and employees is paying off in the instruction (new artistic and instructional trends) as well as in creating a friendlier and more open international atmosphere at the school.
