Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Our institution, Salesians Sant Vicenç dels Horts, began during the course 2013 - 2014 a project to internationalize the school with to main objetives: open up to Europe and become a multilingual school. During the course 2013-2014, the school applied to get the Erasmus+ charter in order to be able to make students and teachers mobilities of higher education courses. In our school there the following levels of educations: • Compulsory secondary school education • Higher school • Vocational training courses. We decided to start this mobilities with our older students. At the call of 2014, we were granted to perform two students mobilities to do a work placement and a teacher mobility for training. As it is mentioned before, the school started a project to open up to Europe and internationalized so that the main goals of this project include: • Opportunity for students to know other cultures and ways of working. • Improving the language level of the participants. • Train teachers in English and tools to teach in English. • To show the Erasmus + program. • Introduce our school to other European centers and meet other way of doing. The two students who performed the work experience were students of higher grade training cycle. One of them went to a company in the Industrial Automation and Robotics (his area of study) in Exeter sector. In the company he could learn and develop his skills in that area. The other participant went a company of Administration and Finance sector (her field of study) in London. She could implement everything she learned and even the company offered her the opportunity to do a training course to expand knowledge in the area of Administration. For both students. it has been a very rewarding experience and has allowed them to improve their CV. In fact, the two participants are well aware that in future will try again travel abroad for work or study, either with or without Erasmus grant. The teacher also made his mobility to London. There he took a five days course to make a complete immersion in culture and English-speaking. He completed a training course promoting the English Speaking. This teacher with the help of this course has been able to teach some of his subjects in English in the school, so that both the school and the students have benefited from such training. Regarding the results and impacts obtained in short term they have already commented. But it must be remembered that this 2014 Erasmus project helped our school and its internationalization. This project lasted two years and the idea is to further develop with more Erasmus projects because they are the ones who give us the opportunity for both students and teachers to develop our school project. The idea for the future is to expand and not only work with projects of Higher Education but with contacts that will be made, to expand the project to the whole school. Our school considers much important to expand horizons and to cooperate with other institutions on elsewhere in Europe. It is an opportunity to share best practices and learn from others.
