Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Assumption of Our Lady Diocesan School has taken part in a Erasmus + project about staff mobility for training (STT) in order to increase the quality of their professional skills and begin to forge a collaborative network among various countries of the European Union. The aim is to complyl the principle of Unity in Diversity establishing environmets without barriers. The project has involved the 2 teachers training mobility training. This staff works teaching in HEI vocational training, in the Management Information Systems Degree, which is the only HEI Degree in our school (a short cycle). Such mobility has been carried out during the academic course 2014/2015 in Cyprus and has lasted for 5 days. The project has been divided into three different phases: preparation, implementation-monitoring and dissemination-evaluation. In the preparation phase, the center has defined the project, have established the obligations of each party (shipping center, reception center and participants) and have selected the candidates providing logistical support (in health card, economic aspects, ID card, etc.), language support (using the Language Institute of the center or by other possibilities as the Official language School) and cultural support. In the implementation phase, participants have been undertaking the training course and the monitoring has been carried out by phone and e-mail mainly. This monitoring has been carried out by the management team together with the tutor of the reception center which controls the attendance, behavior and participation. At the end of the mobility, participants have obtained a certificate issued by the reception center. In the last phase, the evaluation and dissemination of results was completed. The evaluation was carried out through personal interviews with participants (strengths and weaknesses of mobility) and by analyzing their responses in the final report. The dissemination of results was carried out by the center's website and giving information to students, teachers and the directive board respectively. We have attempted to enter the results in the European Platform VALUE but there have been problems. In the future the aim is to expand the types of mobility including student mobility for training (SMT) to increase their employment opportunities because of their work experience abroad as well as the possible increase of their language skills. Moreover, the experiences of staff could also get increase educational opportunities in the center.
