Higher education student and staff mobility project

Please,note that the project does not include internship mobility: this type of activity is the subject of a project managed by the Limousin region. The University of Limoges claims since 2012 its international strategy firmly focused on the development of international mobility. It’s one of its priorities, particularly regarding outgoing mobility. Indeed, the fact that only 1.1% of students used to study abroad was the starting point of a reflection, which led to a comparative analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of our work and its organization. 3 main obstacles were identified: self-censorship: linguistic, cultural, educational; The lack of visibility in the supply of mobility; The issue of financing of mobility. Our goal is to disseminate an international culture at all levels, in all faculties and institutes in all research areas for all staff, whether they are students, teachers, faculty or administrative staff . To reach this objective, we developed a support strategy of international activity We managed to reach 7% of students who have completed at least one mobility during their curriculum in 2020. This strategy includes: - The renforcement of a mobility platform within the International Pole - Publishing of a specific communication for the attention of the target group - Implementation of specific information and awareness actions: mobility opportunities, linking employability and mobility etc ... - The establishment of a special support / coaching for outgoing mobilities - Downsizing the financial support allocation system: mobility is not fully funded (less than one month for each mobility over 4 months articulation with AMIEB supplements and regional aid) - A joint mobility activities with the internationalization of training device and its internal tendering dedicated The expected results as: - Increasing outgoing students mobility - Better information for students: - Readability of the mobility offer All these measures could not be fully deployed ; the device is in progress. The quantitative goals are not reached from the 1st year; Nevertheless, the qualitative objectives are increasing Mobility remains below the target; only 130 students and 8 staff finally made international mobility between 2014 and 2015, but ownership of the mobility project is much better.
