Higher education student and staff mobility project

The National Defence University, The Military University of Technology, the Polish Naval Academy, Military Academy of Land Forces, the Police Academy and The Main School of Fire Service are conducting active and diverse cooperation with universities and other educational institutions in Poland and in Europe. Created Consortium “KONSMUND” is a result of this cooperation what constitutes about the disseminating relevant action which military universities are carried out as a part of the participation in the Erasmus+ Program. Partner relations of the coordinator of the Consortium - NDU with its participants are contributing to meet key challenges, before which Europe is standing in the field of educating and training. The challenges are connected with stimulating the growth of employability of young persons. Within the project "Higher education student and staff mobility" No. 2014–1–PL01–KA103–001132 only students placements were carried out. Students mobility for placement contributed to the acquisition of new knowledge, ability and experience in the international environment, commanding of foreign languages and acquiring the courage to work not only on the local market, but also abroad. Participants were able to explore from system of placement of foreign institutions and to get to know the culture of foreign country. Mobility placement allowed to check student’s resourcefulness, ability of the adaptation in the international environment, the cross-cultural communication, the ability of the cooperation with persons accustomed to alternative procedures and standards. Providing preparation for the best quality graduates KONSMUND included the evaluation of achieved learning outcomes and cross-cultural communication skills. The Consortium carefully examined the offer of cooperating institutions and made every effort to provide full transformation of learning outcomes included at Learning Agreements of sending students. Out of concern for preparing graduates which will be able to be found on the labour market NDU is still searching for partners caring about level of cooperation. Achievements gained abroad have been recognized thanks to recognition of courses from Learning Agreement before the mobility. Thanks to the mobility in the KONSMUND military universities systematically are developing the international cooperation putting emphasis on institutions of uniformed origins. With effort of all military universities of the Consortium the highest level of satisfaction of grant holders was provided. Experience of the first year of activity caused streamlining the flow of information among military universities. It happened thanks to cyclical meetings of project coordinators, during which all working details were discussed. Project coordinators paid attention that all participants had a current information about the Consortium. All outgoing students, teacher or staff at NDU were surrounded with administrative care mainly by Erasmus+ Office. Also part of the managerial staff of the NDU (vice-rector for students affairs, university coordinator of the program, departmental coordinators) constantly remained at the Consortium participants' disposal. The managerial staff didn't leave without reaction requests, complaints, remarks or conclusions. The personal approach to everyone resulted that all outgoing evaluated working on the highest grade A. A standard procedure in the KONSMUND is that the financial grant is withdrawn before the departure to the partner university, on the legal validity of agreements regulations. Dissemination actions are: meetings of the KONSMUND coordinators, internal working meetings, promotional-information posters, other promotional materials. The Consortium is guided by clear rules concerning informing potential Erasmus grant holders. Erasmus+ actions organized widely contributed to increasing in the universal knowledge of the project at cooperating universities. The first year of activity required increased effort for promoting the project what was organized centrally in NDU and individually by each of military university at applying: A. of central data channels during: meetings of the KONSMUND coordinators; "Open Doors of National Defence University"; International Days; Picnics on the occasion of the Independence Day and spring; Erasmus Days; International Week; international students conferences; thematic international evenings; sports competitions or tasting of national culinary dishes. B. of individual undertakings: of information-promotional meetings; of holidays get around by universities; of study trips; Erasmus classes conducted with participation of Polish students; publication and websites, digital presentations on the LCD screens, T-shirts and other promotion materials. There were no serious problems during the project implementation which resulted need for the interrupt of the mobility. Specialists from the Erasmus Office have been solving problem situations systematically.
