Higher education student and staff mobility project

The Fésia consortium : The Fésia consortium has existed for 32 years and its head office is located in Paris. The Fésia consortium is composed of 4 French Institutes of Higher Education in Agriculture, Food Processing, Environment and Life Sciences. These are ISA –Lille, EI Purpan – Toulouse, ISARA – Lyon and ESA Angers Loire and have a total of 5,000 students. Each year, the four institutes graduate 26% of French Life sciences “ingénieur”/engineer students. Since 1996, ESA Angers has coordinated the European mobility projects - academic mobility for students and the staff mobility - for all the members of the consortium. This functioning by consortium is ahead of its time and has been validated by a letter from the European Commission dated February 13th 2004. FESIA has shared the network of university partners since that date. The Fésia consortium has had its own PIC number since 2015 and wishes to apply in its own name for the next call. • ESA (F ANGERS08) : ESA has defined an international strategy since 1985. The current strategy is built on 4 cornerstones : • Incoming and outgoing students, for all educational levels (BSc, MSc, Ingénieur/engineer) and all teaching forms (full time students, or apprenticeship). It concerns mainly exchange mobility but some lead to a diploma (double degree). • Incoming and outgoing staff mobility for teachers and researchers. • The creation of international educational programs to meet the students’ needs (pedagogical development). • Support for French companies with their international development 60% of the ESA graduates – all programs and teaching forms included - have exercised at least one mobility abroad. This is compulsory for all our engineering students (100%) and must be at least of one semester, either a work placement, a study period, or double degree. In this highly international context, the Erasmus+ program plays a crucial part, by creating a framework and providing financial support for those students who wish to live their European experience. The international dimension is a determining factor in the employment of our graduates . It also enables us to develop networks of teachers and researchers and strengthens our support offered to our partner companies. • ISA (F LILLE51) : ISA Lille’s international strategy relies on three main axes: 1. Incoming and outgoing student mobility 2. Staff mobility and internationalization of research 3. Internationalization of our corporate and alumni networks All ISA engineering students must now have a minimum of a six-month experience abroad during their studies in order to be graduated, either via: - an internship - exchange and/or double degree programs offered by the institute - or in adding up the two experiences, which about 80% of ISA students do In the framework of this international strategy, the Erasmus + mobility programs are therefore essential programs, in which ISA is actively involved for the mobility of students (study programs and internships) and research lecturers (training or teaching programs), and also in taking part in strategical partnership programs and in welcoming visiting professors and professionals from companies… In terms of student mobility, more than 60% of the ISA Lille’s partner universities are Erasmus + partners. • ISARA (F LYON17) : All ISARA students shall have an international experience during their study in order to obtain their degree, either for an internship or a study abroad. This international exposure supports student employability, enabling them to get: - Differentiated scientific skills, through subject-related specializations - Linguistic and cultural skills as well as transversal “soft” skills On average, 55% of our students choose a study abroad, and 75% an internship abroad. Most of the students combine both experiences during their curriculum. • PURPAN (F TOULOUS15): The Ecole d’Ingénieurs de PURPAN encourages all its students to have at least 2 several-months-long experiences abroad (for studies and/or for an internship). We have reached our objective. Europe represents more than 1/3 of these mobilities in 2014-2015. The same year, 184 internship mobilities have been done by 2nd year students, amongst them 40% in Europe (under another E+ project). 145 mobilities for studies have been undertaken, amongst them 53% in EUROPE. Our objective is to maintain our efforts for those opportunities are offered to students since many years and have good results in terms of language level as well as in terms of employability.
