Higher education student and staff mobility project

Background and context: For several years, the San Jose Schools - Polytechnic Institute conducted Erasmus projects in which students of Higher Level Vocational Training enjoy the opportunity to make their compulsory internship in a foreign country. Previously the country chosen for the above projects was Ireland, although Slovenia has been chosen in this project because we had very interesting internship offers for students and the possibility of cultural and linguistic enrichment made the students were also very interested. Specifically, the host company has been a translation and interpretation one in which the student has performed administrative tasks, because their specialty is Business Administration. The language used for the mobility has been entirely English, because in the professional environment in Slovenia, and more specifically in the host company, the language used is English. Objectives: There are several objectives of this project: - First give our students practical training that complements their training and competition increases . - Parallel to this, give our students an international education allows them to learn and develop in a global environment and in line with today's society. - On the other hand, we seek to establish links with other countries that provide training and practices for our students, and for our teachers in future projects. - With this kind of projects we want our students feel European citizens, connected in a global and current environment. - It is also an important objective of the project to develop the language skills of our students, as a communication way that allows them to develop, train and work in the current environment, increasing competitiveness of our students. Number and profile of participants: In this project there is only one participant. He is a student of Higher Level Vocational Training in the specialty of Administration and Management, as it was required in the main traineeship offer available. The student was selected under a set of parameters, including the academic record (40 %), English language proficiency (40 %), and behavioral and competency assessment by the tutor and faculty (20 %). Description of activities: - Fulfilling delivery notes, orders, invoices and other administrative documents using the proper software. - Archiving work of all different kinds of Administration documents. - Accounting tasks such as registration and payment of the company invoices. - Marketing research about new businesses ideas to increase the number of customers. - Checking Spanish to English translations in the business context, marketing leaflets and other advertisement papers. - Coordinating his activity with the rest of the members of the team. Results and impact obtained and long-term benefits: The student after the mobility: - Has increased his professional practical competence by doing activities of his specialty in a real company abroad. - Has improved his language skills. - Has developed his capacity to get along abroad. - Has met other cultures and ways of working. - By disseminating the mobility we have stimulated other students interest in taking mobilities and meeting the professional and cultural environment of other countries. - We have increased the motivation of other students for language skills increasing. - We have established contacts for future mobilities and inter-agency agreements. - We have improved the international image of the vocational school. - We have spread the Erasmus+ programs inside and outside the school, spreading the opportunities and benefits that they bring. Long-term benefits: - Increasing of the vocational school international connections and therefore higher posibilities for our students to take training and studies abroad. - Increasing of the awareness of Erasmus+ mobility programs and their possibilities, that will increase the number of students and teachers taking mobilities. - Increasing of students motivation that after their studies will be more competent in and out of Spain.
