Higher education student and staff mobility project

The project was for mobility of students and staff and the activities were student exchanges for studies and placement, staff exhanges for teaching and training. The objectives was to encourage student mobility for studies and placements,as well as for teaching and staff mobility. In a wider perspective the goals are to offer students a chance to improve their skill-set, employability and cultural and linguistic skills. Exchanges, in particular staff exchanges also help build relations at an institutional level. In the application we were awarded 19 mobilities for studies and 6 for traineeships, as well as 25 staff mobilities. In the interim report an error was made from our side, where planned placements were listed as student mobilities instead.This accounts for the disrepancies in the budget. All in all TUC managed to send out 16 students on mobilities for studies and 4 students on placements, as well as 18 teachers on teaching mobility and 2 staff on training mobility. Comparing the results to the original grant, we see that the number of students was lower than expected, both for student mobilities and placements. This was also the case for staff exchange, although the number of teacher exchanges was as expected, The number of training mobilities was a lot lower than expected. The evaluation shows that by far the most of our incoming and outgoing students have been very positive about their stay. This is encouraging and we believe that shows that the arrangements we have with our partner institutions abroad and what we offer to incoming students are adding value. In some points the evaluation score is lower than expected and we will look into what the cause is and what we can do to improve, We consider the project to have had the desired impact. Students seem to be overwhelmingly happy with their stay, both abroad and at TUC. We hope that this is a sign of quality in the work that we do with selecting partner institutions, guiding the students and facilitation for incoming exchange students. Teacher exchange bring valuable networks for teachers, experience with teaching in English and sometime added value in the form of other project cooperation.
