Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

Edutus College has been operating since 2011, when the College for Modern Business Studies (seated in Tatabánya since its establishment in 1992) and Harsányi János College (founded in Budapest in 2003) merged. The international relations of the College went through a significant development, advancing the cooperation agreements of its two predecessors. By now we have got an effective Erasmus training agreement in almost all member states of the European Union. Our institution functions within the framework of the higher education standards created by the Bologna Accords and provides bachelor's and master's degree qualifications according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). The available trainings are the following: Business Administration and Management (BA), Trade and Marketing (BA), International Business Administration (BA), Tourism and Hospitality (BA), Technical Management and Mechatronics Engineering (BA) and Marketing (MA). In the KA1 project 40 outbound students took part in the study and the placement mobility activities from our institution in the academic year 2014/15. Besides our students, we sent 21 teachers and staff members to our partner institutions for short term duration teaching and training mobility, who benefited from the Erasmus+ programme. Not only did the number of inbound Erasmus students grow, but the teaching and staff one is also showing a constantly increasing trend. This is proven by the fact that this year we had 36 incoming students and 30 teachers and staff mobility participants. The Edutus College provides a wide range of course choices for the part-time Erasmus students in English. We do not only offer courses in English in all study programmes for them, but they can also attend language classes in Hungarian as a foreign language, as well as pursue Hungarian cultural studies during their whole study period, free of charge. Apart from the available English-speaking courses in all study programmes, a few times in every semester there are different social events, study tours and cultural activities as well. We also run a buddy-system, with which they can find their Hungarian ?twin fellow?, who can be at their help in managing their everyday life (i.e. administration problems, accommodation issues, course registrations, health problems, residence permit, etc.). Our institution places special emphasis on the dissemination of the achievements, results and experiences gained on the mobility programmes. For our students we organize orientations a few times every year, where we call their attention to the possibilities, the different kinds of scholarships and fellowships provided by the Erasmus programme. To these events we always invite some of our former students who participated in the programme in order to hold informal talks and presentations for the Erasmus students-to-be. Based on our experiences, we hope that these occasions are useful, since the students can get more detailed information from our alumni this way. Apart from these, the students returning from the programme have to submit a report on their experiences, best practices and other useful information. These reports are shared between the sending departments and the future possible outbound Erasmus applicants of the Edutus College. The teachers and staff participants have to send a record to their sending department about their Erasmus+ mobility activity. Besides the above they are requested to hold an oral report for their colleagues on the weekly organized department meetings, where the participants give more detailed information concerning the adaptable best practices at the receiving institution.
