Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The key motivation drivers for internationalization at LBUS are, on the one hand, the need to feel integrated in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and on the other hand, to increase the visibility and the prestige of the university at national and European level , in order to access European research funds and to increase students mobility. At the same time, the university has intended to enhance the international cooperation by developing partnerships with worldwide universities, as well as to ensure the internationalization of non-mobile students. Beside the enhancement of cooperation with international universities, LBUS tried to activate the actual partnerships, in the sense of increasing the number of outgoing and incoming students in order to benefit from these cooperation. In order to develop its actual international position and to satisfy the needs of the future labour employees and students, LBUS assumed its integration ina global perspective in all university? development areas. The students and academic and administrative staff international mobilities has been encouraged at institutional level, LBUS ensuring an environment that supported the increase and development of its members, throughout the promotion of the study, placement, teaching and staff mobilities. Thus, in the context of the modernization of the higher education, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu has assumed through the Erasmus Policy Statement to increase the number of mobilities beneficiaries on all study levels as well as the number of teaching and staff training mobilities. Also, another assumed objective was to increase the number of incoming participants, thus, for this reason, LBUS has organised so far 2 editions of Erasmus+ International Week, ensuring the internationalisation "at home" for non-mobile students. In what concerns the activities undertaken in the academic year 2014/2015, LBUS registered a number of 49 placements, 130 study mobilities, 41 teaching mobilities and 41 staff mobilities for training. The participants to the Erasmus+ mobilities were students enrolled the university?s faculties as well as active academics and staff of the institution. The expected impact of the project especially focused both on the contribution brought to the progress and development of academic practices,as well as on the type of activity in the following fields engineering, medicine, letters, socio-human sciences, law, theology, sciences, food industry, environmental protection, facilitating the applicability of the assumed experience through the mobilities in the daily practice. On institutional level, the program impact can be found in the development of transnational cooperation between LBUS and international partner institutions, covering various fields of research, in implementation of mobility and cooperation European funded projects. In what concerns the students and academics mobilities, the program benefits resulted into a better insertion on the labour market, respectively on the impact increase on the transfer of knowledge, didactic material.
