Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The participation in Erasmus+ programme constitutes a core element of Kazimierz Wielki University?s international strategy implementation. The partnerships established during the program are quite often the starting point for a wide international cooperation, including the scientific one. The exchange of good practices is absolutely necessary in the rapidly evolving area of European higher education. Such an exchange has become an easily reached aim thanks to Erasmus+ mobilities. In the academic year 2014/15 the mobilities between Programme Countries reached the number of 83, that is: 40 student mobilities for studies, 9 student mobilities for traineeships, 27 staff mobilities for teaching and 7 staff mobilities for training. The program was participated by the students of as many as 16 majors, representing various social groups (including those from disadvantaged backgrounds), academic teachers and administrative staff. Both outgoing and incoming participants were supported in all necessary fields, such as organizational, task-related, intercultural and linguistic ones. A number of meetings were held to provide the participants with necessary information and integration. Full recognition of learning outcomes was assured. The International Relations Office staff, together with all the coordinators (institutional and departmental), vice-deans for educational affairs and the Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations were engaged in all these activities. The estimated number of all the mobilities was reached in 98,81 percent. The number of incoming participants (27 students for studies and 12 staff mobilities for teaching) outnumbered the results obtained in the previous academic year. The rules for outgoing participants, published in Polish on the university?s Erasmus+ website, have been upgraded. The course catalogue, offering the incoming students courses in English has been regularly upgraded and extended. The Erasmus+ programme has been disseminated through the International Realtions Office?s website, university?s main website and the departments? websites as well as in posters and leaflets. Moreover, the information about the programme appears in a Newsletter issued monthly by International Relations Office. The finest advertisement of Kazimierz Wielki University has been prepared for incoming students in a form of a short movie where the university?s capacities and most picturesque sights of Bydgoszcz were presented. The Erasmus+ program has definitely positively influenced Kazimierz Wielki University?s good public relations in the local environment, made the university more recognizable for international employers and educational institutions, which has been observed in the increasing number of letters of intent for signing bilateral agreements. Simultaneously, the city of Bydgoszcz and Kujavian-Pomeranian province has become distinguished on the academic map of Europe. A positive change has been noticed in the students after their abroad mobility, their scientific and social skills raised a lot. It is worthwhile mentioning that in the employers? opinion students experience in Erasmus mobility significantly increases their attractiveness on the labour market. The requirements of ECHE became a perfect motivation for changes and evaluating study plans relating to the requirements of European Qualifications Framework.
