Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

We started our mobility experience with projects under Leonardo da Vinci. We have sent students to do their On-the-job Training abroad under Erasmus since academic year 2011-12. The first year we just sent 3 students to the same location and hosting institution in Belgium; we have kept growing, as we can see this year: we have sent 9 participants to Malta, Belgium and the United Kingdom. Though we used to have participants belonging to the area of Construction, this year they all belonged to the Administration area (Advanced Secretarial Experts + Higher Technicians in Administration and Finance). Our main target is to provide our students with the opportunity to do their On-the-job Training (which is a compulsory part of their courses) abroad and with high standards. The benefits for students are huge: they improve their foreign language skills, their personal and professional skills. Benefits for our institution, further than the satisfaction of the participants we have given such an opportunity, include a best knowledge of European reality, learning best practices from other institutions and companies in Europe... Our 9 participants, 3 men and 6 women, have done their on-the-job training period in very different workplaces in Malta (hotels, museums, small and large distribution companies...), Belgium (university institution) and the United Kingdom (hotel). They have always dealt with tasks that meet their skills and qualifications. The impact of this project can be seen in the number of applications for 2015-16: 12 students showed their interest in participating.
