Higher education student and staff mobility project

The project of the IEFPS Don Bosco GLHBI was made up of a total amount of 20 mobility grants: 12 SMP and 8 STT. The Project received an early funding of ?24,600 and, after the intermediate report, the grant rose to ?25,163. The aims of the trainee students? mobility are: 1- To contribute to the adjustment of the specific needs of the labour market on a community-wide basis 2- To acquire professional, technical, personal and language skills 3- To enhance understanding of the economic and social environment of the country in question 4- To acquire work experience The 12 SMP mobility grants took place from March to June. The average length was 2 months and 23.59 days. The destination countries were France, Ireland, Italy and Poland. There were not any incidents during that period and the aforementioned objectives were achieved. The participants carried out the tasks laid out in the training agreement and they improved their language and technical skills. Furthermore, they integrated satisfactorily not only into the professional environment but also into the socio-cultural one, taking part in all the activities proposed by the company. The participants? evaluation has been very positive and they strongly recommend this experience to future participants. The objectives of the personnel mobility are: 1- To enable the beneficiaries to learn from knowledge transfer and competences, as well as from the experiences and good practice of the partner institution. Moreover, to facilitate practical skills and to improve the skills that their current position requires. 2- To improve their language ability. 3- To promote international relations and the school internalisation. In the majority of cases, the main activity has been a short placement at the partner institution to observe the professionals of different vocational training schools. The eight mobilities of staff training have been developed at different periods of time. Six of them lasted for five days and two of them for three days. The chosen destination countries were: France, Austria, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The aforementioned objectives were achieved. The participants shared and put into practice the acquired knowledge and the good practice observed at the technological department. They improved their language skills to the greatest possible extent, taking into account the short duration of only five days. Equal opportunities: The principles of non-discrimination were achieved in full and equal access and opportunities for participants from all backgrounds were ensured. Monitoring: The monitoring of the mobilities has been in accordance to the established conditions. The participants have completed and sent their follow-up sheets punctually and they have been in contact with their tutors at the place of origin via Skype, telephone or email. In addition, the instructor completed the follow-up sheet and made contact to solve small daily problems when it was necessary. Recognition: The participants have received the recognition of the placement according to the established conditions. Given that the instructor?s evaluation report has been positive, the placements at the European companies have been recognised with the addition of the workplace training module to all the participants. This addition of 22 credits appears on the academic record of the participant. Moreover, all the participants received a certificate issued by the school IEFPS Don Bosco GLHBI and signed by the head office. This certificate acknowledges the involvement of the students in the Erasmus+ Project and the internship. Dissemination: The dissemination of the project was done before, during and after the development of the project. The first presentation was during the Open Day in front of parents, tutors and future students. Later on, during the first meetings of the tutors with the parents of the students, the project was also explained, paying special attention to its aims and the procedures to be followed. During the academic year, we organised some debriefings with first-year students and some informal meetings with former trainees in order to give feedback on the Erasmus experience to future participants. At the first staff meeting of the academic year, during the presentation of the annual work plan and the final report, we told all the personnel about the Erasmus Project, focusing on the aims and the results achieved. In each issue of the school magazine Denok Batera, we include articles on the experiences of participants at different destinations. Furthermore, not only does The Erasmus+ project appear on the website but also on social network sites such as Facebook and Twitter. In this way, we can publicise the activities that have been carried out.
