Higher education student and staff mobility project

Under the context of learning mobility of individuals, the project focuses on the mobility of students and staff within the program countries. Our university has implemented this type of project over four years with considerable success with more than fifty partners across Europe among seventeen countries. The objectives of the project are; to support internationalization of our students and staff, to provide professional and vocational training to our students and staff as well. Within these objectives we planned to send 18 students and 15 staff for mobilities. During the project we have achieved 27 student mobilities, 5 of which were traineeships and 13 staff mobilities 6 of which were staff training mobilites. Among the 27 student mobilities 11 were female students and 16 were male students. About the 13 staff mobilities, 8 were female staff and 5 were male staff. Under the student mobility for studies activities, 6 students were sent to Portugal, 5 students were sent to Poland, 4 students were sent to Hungary, 2 students were sent to Italy, 2 students were sent to Greece, 1 student was sent to France, 1 student was sent to Latvia and 1 student was sent to Slovenia. Under the student mobility for traineeships, 2 students were sent to Germany, 1 student was sent to Poland, 1 Student was sent to Slovenia, and 1 student was sent to UK. Under the staff mobility for teaching each staff had a one week opportunity to give lectures at a foreign university; 2 staff were sent to Belgium, 1 staff was sent to Romania, 1 staff was sent to Portugal, 1 staff was sent to Bulgaria, 1 staff was sent to Croatia, and 1 staff was sent to Hungary. Under the staff mobility for training each staff had a one week opportunity to get training and observation on their respective profession; 2 staff was sent to Greece, 1 staff was sent to Croatia, 1 staff was sent to Germany and 1 staff was sent to Bulgaria. The results and impact for the students are increased levels of internationalization, better understanding of foreign cultures, better communication skills and increased foreign language competency. The results and impact for the staff are gaining experience on giving lectures in a foreign language and getting to know different cultures at both institutional and social levels, and better communication and internationalization skills. At the longer term the benefits of the project will be the building of new partnerships and networks across Europe.
