The University of Montpellier (UM) develops ambitious policies in terms of its international relations and development of European mobilities for students and academic and administrative staff. The International Relations Office is composed of 25 people. Each faculty of the university also has its own International Relations office which supports students during their mobility (outgoing and incoming). These offices implement the international policies of the university, in accordance with the vice-president for International affairs. The University of Montpellier has participated in this program since the very beginning. The objectives of the project are to promote outgoing inter-European mobilities, all the while assisting the participants of the project.
At the International Relations Office (centralised office), 4 people are in charge of outgoing mobilities, they are joined by 2 people dedicated specifically to the payment of grants. Added to this are the staff at the international relations office of the 7 faculties (at least one officer per faculty is in charge of the management of mobilities). With an execution rate greater than 100%, the program is a success amongst our target audience (mainly students). The support that students are given and the quality of the follow up, allows us to increase the number of outgoing students every year and to reinforce institutional ties with our partners within the program. UM places emphasis on linguistic training for its students in order to facilitate their integration abroad, the university offers a very dynamic language department.
