Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2015, End date: Sep 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

ISAE-ENSMA takes part in international and European exchange programs for many years having now for ambition that every student performs an international mobility for obtaining his/her engineering degree. Consequently, students take part in Erasmus+ exchanges either as part of their studies or for internships (participation in the project within a consortium). Students perform all or part of their final year at a partner university. Students take part into the exchange program after 4 or 5 years of higher education. Most of the students spend from 1 to 2 semesters abroad and for some of them get a double degree at the end of the exchange program. In 2015/2016, the school had 570 students enrolled, 212 students completed a stay abroad (study or internship) ie. 37% of them. Upon the 197 students registered in final year, 53 took part in an academic exchange including 15 under the Erasmus + program. We also welcomed 56 students within an exchange program including 15 under the Erasmus + program, i.e. about 20%. These students perform mobilities ranging from one semester to a full year course or perform laboratory research projects. Some of them stay for an additional year to obtain a double degree. One of the visible impacts of the Erasmus + exchanges is the increase of the number of double degrees that gives a very strong internationalization of our engineering traning programs. The second benefit is reflected in the continuation of students on PhD programs. A better understanding of the partner universities encourages collaboration in terms of research. The valorisation of international mobility also passes through the delivery of awards issued under the PEGASUS network (Partnership of a European Group of Aeronautical and Space UniversitieS). Partner institutions recognize academic terms abroad and mastery of foreign languages to grant students a supplementary certificate to their engineering degree.
