Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 30, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) has been participating in the Erasmus programme since 1987. Participation in the Erasmus programme is a key element in the UAB strategy of internationalization, which is defined as a public university with an international vocation. The objective of this project is to provide students, teachers and administrative staff the possibility of mobilities to programme countries institutions, with the aim of promoting training opportunities and career development. The Erasmus + programme has helped to promote the internationalization of the UAB, fostering cooperation with institutions and organizations of the programme countries and increasing the multilingualism and multiculturalism of our university and thus internationalization at home. The project has been particularly positive for beneficiaries of a mobility, but also for all teachers and students who shared classes with students and teachers who have come to the UAB under the Erasmus+ programme. The number of mobilities executed in the frame of the 2014-1-ES01-KA103-000258 project has been: Mobility of students for studies: 699 Mobilities of students for internship: 154 Teaching staff mobilities: 62 Mobilities of staff training: 21 We can say that expectations and objectives of the project have been met, and that participation in each of the four actions of the project has been very high, surpassing in the case of the two actions aimed at students the number of mobilities granted and in the case of staff mobilities practically the total granted has been executed. We want to highlight that a 19.15% of the graduates of the UAB have been abroad within the frame of an exchange programme while studying, which brings us very close to 20 % of mobilities that the European Commission has set as target for 2020. According to the strategy of internationalization of the UAB, the Erasmus programme allows participants to meet and raise new academic experiences and open new fields of research with European universities .
