Higher education student and staff mobility projec..
Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014,
End date: May 31, 2016
PROJECT
FINISHED
Numbers:
852 students and 9 staff members participated in the Erasmus+ programme. Compared to 2013-2014 this is a significant increase of students and staff.
Unfortunately the budget is not sufficient any more. We decided to limit the E+ periods for all students, to give more students the opportunity to experience the programme.
As stated in the ECHE, Maastricht University is an exceptionally international university with many partnerships and cooperation projects in research and education.
In our application for the ECHE (2013), we wrote:
‘By participating in the Programme, we expect to strengthen our international profile and networks further, learn from best practices in other institutions, continue to offer our students and staff ample opportunities for mobility, expand our portfolio of double and joint degrees, tap into new joint research possibilities with partner universities abroad and share our expertise in teaching and research in various ways.’
In general students are very positive about their study and internship period abroad, as can be see in the figures below (Learning outcome and impact).
The advantages of participating in the Erasmus+ programme are: Immerse in a different culture (language / religion / values), increase of independency, personal development, a good experience for a future international career. Upon return the students are highly motivated to share their learning experiences and success stories.
In short: Every student returns with an enrichment for life and an international experience offers good opportunities for the future career of the students.
