Higher education student and staff mobility project

CONTEXT OF THE PROJECT: It is a ERASMUS + Project, for Higher Education student mobility (KA103), with a total duration of 24 months. The participating organization is the IES Cencibel, Villarrobledo (Albacete), Spain. OBJECTIVES: Objectives related to the development of mobility: - Acquire new professional skills, and abilities to adapt to a different linguistic, cultural and professional environment. - Develop a work autonomously, engaging in a work team, in order to exercise a number of functions competently. - Access to machinery not available in the school itself. - Acquire a number of fundamental social and organizational skills to subsequently achieve adequate employability. - Increase employment prospects and professional qualifications. - Get personal development, acquisition of more security, independence and professional maturation. - Meet and interact with new cultures, work environments, customs and ways of living. - Exchange experiences with other centers and institutions. - Transmit the results and benefits of the project to the production environment. - Increase assessment, image and prestige of the Center. Objectives related to the development of work in the company: - Develop an understanding of the logistic function - Understand the role of foreign suppliers in the activities of the company - Utilise critical thinking and problem solving abilities - Develop logistic/management skills - Improve their English language skills NUMBER AND PROFILE OF PARTICIPANTS: Three mobilities have been carried out. All participants are women, seniors, students of the Advanced Transport and Logistics Degree, who have realized their training, through the ERASMUS + program. The partner, in all cases, has been the company Print-in-Green, located in London, UK, dedicated to electronic commerce of various products. The duration of mobilities has been between 2-3 months. The first mobility from October to December 2015 and the second and third, from February to May 2016. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES We will make a brief reference to the different steps followed for the implementation of the project, with a particular reference to the activities of mobilities: Step 1: Preparation Once the project is approved, the center proceeded to publicize through different channels (website center, bulletin board, information of tutor to students). After that, the application and selection process of the participants took place. Stage 2: START After several previous contacts with the host company, the teachers responsible made a mobility in the host country, to build relationships, to agree on the main activities carried out by the students during their mobility and make all necessary arrangements for the preparation of mobilities. Step 3: PERFORMANCE OF MOBILITIES - MAIN ACTIVITIES The main activities developed by the students in their host company consisted of: - Support the process and calculations related to logistic activities - Help during collating and recording of relevant information. - Assist in the activities of finding foreign suppliers - Checking invoices against delivery note, quotation and pro-forma documents - Support on price analysis to assess profitability of new products Step 4: MONITORING AND CONTROL - Weekly contact with the company by mail, to check activities and development of the student, as well as several telephone contacts. - Weekly monitoring with students, endorsed by the company ACHIEVED RESULTS AND BENEFITS The results have been very positive for both centers, the sending and receiving, and the participating students. Participation in these projects means more opportunities for students to enhance their employability, improve their language skills and acquire skills for their personal, educational and professional development. As for the benefits for sending and receiving center, is an exchange of experiences with professionals from other countries. In addition, there has been a greater interest in the educational offer of the center and improvement its image and prestige. The intention is to stay involved with the project, increasing the number of partners and encourage greater participation of students of that degree and others.
