Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Higher Education Institution "Verbum" educates first-level students in the field of Translation and Interpreting. Participating in Erasmus+ Programme is foundamental to give our students and staff members all the available academic and linguistic tools to improve their skills and live their university career with a complete level of satisfaction. This is the reason why in 2013 we entered the project, with the aim of supporting students' and staff members' mobilities in an internationalized context. Joining Erasmus+ Programme produces multiple benefits, either for the participants in mobility or for the sending/receiving organizations involved. Our main ambitions in the framework of Erasmus+ project are: - acquiring basic and transversal competences; - increasing employability; - avoiding social exclusion; - extending competitiveness, according to the labour market requirements; - stopping the phenomenon of brain drain; - acquiring a specific know-how; - reinforcing cooperation among organizations; - encouraging dialogue at European level. Our 2014 KA1 project was based on the need of implementing internationalization in our HEI. We hardly encouraged students' and staff members' mobilities by organizing previous explicative and motivational reunions with all the potential participants. From June 2014 to May 2016 we had 10 students and 4 staff members involved in our project, for a total amount of 16 mobilities - in fact, given that we had enough money, 2 staff members applied 2 times. Students' mobility activities aimed at improving students' skills and competences, while opening a path to the labour market. They lived internship experiences in different fields, related to their study plan: translation agencies, language schools, tourism offices and museums hosted them for a work period. They strenghtened their language skills, above all, and gained self-consciousness in getting out of job-related difficulties. Staff members were involved in educational activities, with a strong impact not only in their personal growth, but also in their academic professionality.
