Higher education student and staff mobility projec..
Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014,
End date: Sep 30, 2015
PROJECT
FINISHED
This project was for the mobility of students and staff at Higher Education level within programme countries.
The objectives of the project were:
1. to allow university students to spend a period of time studying or working in programme countries as a recognised part of their course
2. to allow staff to spend time teaching at Erasmus+ partner institutions
Students
As the majority of Ulster University's Erasmus+ Inter-Institutional Agreements have been signed for exchange during the first cycle of studies, this project was aimed primarily at first cycle students, which was reflected in the breakdown of student participants. In total, 214 students participated in the project, which represents an increase of 35% on Erasmus student mobility in 2013/14. 53,7% of participants undertook traineeships and 46.3% undertook studies. The gender ratio for students undertaking traineeships was close to 1:1; the ratio for students undertaking studies was almost 3:2 (female:male). 48% of students undertaking studies came from disadvantaged backgrounds. 99.6% of students received full academic recognition for their studies/traineeship.
Staff
Staff mobility was lower than predicted due mostly to drop out of participants as a result of work or personal commitments. Staff who undertook teaching assignments were able to share their knowledge and expertise, share good practice, improve their skills and knowledge and increase their awareness of partner institutions.
