The University of Sunderland is committed to globalisation and employability and Erasmus+ is one of the many opportunities offered to students and staff in order to achieve these aims. The project covers the provision of staff and student mobility for studying, training and teaching. The University has one undergraduate programme of study which requires students to spend one year studying or working in the EU and Erasmus+ supports this programme; however, all other opportunities through Erasmus+ are optional but still an integral part of the students' programme. The University of Sunderland also has a strategic aim to encourage more students to experience a period of overseas study and Erasmus+ is very much an integrated part of this strategy. The International Office works with faculties to ensure students and staff take up these opportunities in order to meet this aim. The focus of these activities is to create a more globalised student and staff community and to increase the employability of our graduates.
