Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Bifröst University participated in the KA103 activity within the Erasmus+ for the academic year 2014-15. In 2014, Bifröst University ran the International Office with a coordinator in 50% position. Despite being reactive in the international operations and having not so clear objectives, there were 13 outgoing Erasmus students and 3 outgoing Erasmus teachers/staff during the academic year from Bifröst University. The experience and the impact was in general positive on the participants and our partners did a good job hosting our students and teachers. On the other hand, we received 28 incoming Erasmus students without promoting our exchange programme at all. Our service level was at minimum but still most students ranked us highly and expressed their joy over the decision to come to Bifröst University for the Erasmus period abroad. The incoming exchange students of fall 2014 are still being regarded as the most remembered group of exchange students ever studied here, due to active involvement in the society, and because of very outgoing, positive individuals in the group. It is fair to say that the Erasmus project had positive impact on the society near the university. In addition, Bifröst University hosted the first blind student in it´s history by accepting him as an exchange student from The Hague University of Applied Sciences. That academic year was very fruitful for Bifröst University in terms of increased cooperation with The Hague University of Applied Sciences as we received 3 teachers/staff during the year. Now, The Hague University of Applied Sciences is considered our most important partner university as the cooperation has increased even further since. In April 2015, Bifröst University decided to increase it´s international operations and therefore, increased the coordinators position to 100%.
