Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Signing the Erasmus+ financial agreement for 2014 was a big step towards the development of the Medical University of Lublin. The agreement for 2014 anticipated 32 mobilities with the total grant for individual support amounting to 52 350€. Thanks to the involvement of the Institutional Erasmus+ Coordinator, members of the International Relations Team (Erasmus Office) and Departmental Coordinators, the University carried out 39 mobilities (121,88%) for the total grant for individual support amounting to 58 720€ (112%). Mobilities for studies were carried out by 11 students (137,5%), practical training- 19 students (135,71%), STA- 4 staff members (100%), STT- 5 staff members (83,3%). Due to the received grant from the project, the University carried out 121,88% of the mobilities originally planned at the moment of signing the financial agreement for 2014. The Erasmus+ project allowed the University to realize its strategy of internalization while carrying out the provisions of the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education and the University’s Erasmus Policy Statement. While carrying out the project University’s main priority was to reach the biggest possible number of beneficiaries in order to maximize the use of the received financial support. In all its procedures the University followed the principle of equal access so that all students and staff members (especially from disadvantaged groups) could equally use the opportunities stemming from the project. Following the rules of ECHE, the Medical University of Lublin made all the efforts so that the beneficiaries of the programme could develop their knowledge, competencies, increase their employability and personal development in the job market. The project allowed the University to develop in many different fields- to extend its educational offer for foreigners, increase the visibility of the institution on international level. The University developed good practices in the recognition of learning effects achieved abroad. Increased number of student and staff mobilities had a very positive effect on statistics concerning the indicators of higher education internationalization. In sum, the University hosted 16 students carrying out their studies and practical trainings, and 4 staff members carrying out teaching assignments. Visits of foreign guests allowed for a transfer of knowledge and good practices between the partners of exchanges. The mentors of the incoming students developed their intercultural, language and didactic skills and the University could develop its didactic offer so that it reached the widest possible group of students. Thanks to realization of mobilities in Erasmus+ programme the University established new links which helped in establishing joint projects outside Erasmus+ programme. The programme had a very positive impact on its direct beneficiaries, the University, the region and all foreign partners taking part in it. The University signed many new bilateral agreements, established closer relations with the local and regional authorities, and also with other Universities in Lublin carrying out mobility programmes. The university’s aim is to use its experience acquired during the project’s realization for its future editions and to enhance its actions so as to use to the fullest the possibilities given by the project and to reach the biggest possible number of beneficiaries. As before, the University is going to promote the Erasmus+ programme among the academic community and all the other potential recipients to increase their awareness about the positive impact of international mobilities. Erasmus+ programme is a big support for every higher education institution and the Medical University of Lublin will make all the efforts to fully benefit from its potential.
