Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava is the university type of the school specialised in training of students in the performing arts / theatre, music , dance and filmmaking arts in Slovakia. Within the international relations and cooperation, the main focus of the VSMU is to maintain and strengthen its international position and to act as the artistic educational institution of the European importance. The mobility programme Erasmus + has the outstanding place within the international policy of the VSMU. The project was compiled as 2 -year project of the mobility of students and staff of the higher education institution The purpose of the project was to support the mobilities of students and staff of the HEI and to strengthen the cooperation both with the existing artistic institutions of the higher education and the promotion of new partnerships with HEI of the similar fields of study. The number of outgoing students was 32, and the number of traineeships was 11. Within the mobilities for the study, the half of them were students of the master degree. Among the all traineeships , half of them were fresh graduates. This demonstrates the interest of the VSMU to support the development of their skills in the working area and thus to assist in the easier integration at the labour market. The number of teaching mobilities was overreached. The teaching mobilities were held on the basis of the invitation letters of the partners HEI which declated their interest to host the teachers. In addition to teaching activities, the mobilities contributed to increase the mutual cooperation in the field of other project calls. The most intensive exchange of the academic teachers - outgoings and incomings is at the Faculty of Music and Dance. Most of the teachers ha the log-term experience within the abroad teaching, gained yet during the previous LLP programme. Concerning the staff trainings designed both to teaching and administrative employees, finally, it was not managed to reach the number of mobilities stipulated in the Grant Agreement. One of the reason of the lower number of staff training was the fact that the dates of the various events such Staff Week, were overlapping with the different festivals where our teachers and students participate. Another reason was that the Erasmus + office agenda is ensured only by one employee and the huge workload and administration duties has not allowed the participation at workshops abroad, where VSMU was invited. Given the quality point of view, all staff trainigs are considered to be very positive, as they resulted in the establishing of new inter institutional agreements and the reciprocal teachers and students exchanges. The most visited countries of the exchanges were as follows: UK, Austria, Germany, Spain, Portugal. VSMU accepted students from the V4 countries, UK, Germany, Finland, Spain and others. There is no doubt that the long term benefit of the project lies in the increase of the multilateral cooperation that creates conditions for the further development of mobilities and the the improving of teaching and learning quality. At the same time, in the course of the project, the VSMU increased the network of its international HEI and has become the partner of the other projects funded by the EC.
