Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica is the art institution of higher education which offers degrees in film, music, visual and performing arts in all three degree levels. One of its strategic goals is a development of international cooperation with cultural and educational institutions abroad, especially those operating in Europe. In order to stimulate the mobility of students and workers in this geographic area Academy of Arts conducted this project of academic mobility between the years 2014 to 2016. The project belonged to key action KA103 - the mobility of individuals. Project objectives were set as to be consistent with overall foreign strategy of the Academy of Arts and its partners. The activities (student's mobility and staff mobility) which were realized during the project helped to develop mutual mobility between the Academy of Arts and higher education institutions and companies across Europe. The activities which were related to the student's mobility (studies and internships placement) assisted students in developing their professional, intercultural, social and communicative competences. Also they helped to strengthen and compare their own values, sense of belonging to a particular community and improved their self-confidence. Students benefited in particular from the fact that their talent, artistic and academic skills were developed and presented at international level. During their stay abroad, students got to know new culture, environment and other pedagogical methods and forms. They learned self-reliance and responsibility and how to use financial and time management. They strengthened their language and social skills and become acquainted with new countries and people. The activities related to the mobility of staff (teaching and training) helped participants to deepen the debate with international partners on the curriculum developments under international standards. The academic mobility directly promoted the exchange of know-how, innovation and artistic research. Accelerated personal growth of employees and modifications of educational process that meet the needs of the labor market were also made possible by mobility. At the same time the academic mobility supported the labor mobility between institutions and helped to create connections between artistic researches of participated institutions. Based on the analysis of the feedback received from the participants after the mobility it can be concluded that the project implementation was successful. The expectations of participants were fulfilled and the mobility contributed to personal development of each participant. It had a positive impact on the organizations involved and it also had a spin off effect on other international projects. This project of academic mobility has built partnerships that are sustainable and represent long-term benefits for participating institutions and society
