Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

ISVOUGA is an institution with 25 years of existence, created by the Foundation Terras de Santa Maria da Feira, which includes, besides the County of Santa Maria da Feira, personalities from the academia and a number of prestigious regional companies operating at a national and international level. In this sense, and in its mission, through the courses it ministers, ISVOUGA aims to create and strengthen competences likely to boost economic and social development of the country. The Erasmus + program fits perfectly in this development policy. Therefore, in our view, the objectives of this project 2014/2016 have been, in overall, achieved in what concerns the mobility of students for studies (SMS) and teaching and staff mobility (STA and STT). Throughout this period, as regards outbound flows we have had 10 SMS, 1 STT and STA 2, with the destinations Spain, Poland, Italy and Czech Republic. Concerning the inbound flows, we have had 15 SMS and 1 STA coming from the Czech Republic, Italy and Poland. The results obtained by the outbound students, with an average of 35 ECTS per semester, are considered very positive, which shows the importance of the Erasmus + Program in the recognition of the European Credit Transfer System. It evidences the perfect adaptation of students in moblity to other cultures and teaching methods, proving the importance and the value of this program. ISVOUGA adopts the procedures at the level of academic recognition of students in mobility, the ECTS listed in their Transcript of Records in accordance with the Learning Agreement, previously validated by the respective course coordinators. During the period of absence in mobility, ISVOUGA exempts the students to pay their fees, in order to potentiate the number of participants. ISVOUGA also adopts the Diploma Supplement (bilingual) when the student exceeds the number of credits foreseen. Teaching and non-teaching staff mobility allows an appreciation of their professional careers and recognition by issuing a certificate of participation. The measures taken to promote and support the teaching and non-teaching mobility are: flexible hours and tasks that allow absence from work during the short-term missions; incentives in career progression; free attendance in language courses in order to facilitate their participation in the program.
