FINISHED
The 2014-1-PT01-KA103-000722 project coordinated by the U.Porto was built with the aim of enhancing the internationalization process of the University through the opening of new mobility opportunities for students, recent graduates, academic and administrative staff. The fact that this was the first project approved under the new Erasmus+ Programme constituted a challenge as the novelty of the rules demanded at the U.Porto a deep reflection about the new procedures and tools required. Such brainstorming involved not only the International Relations Office but other Offices within the U.Porto that are, to some extent, involved in the implementation of mobility projects, such as the financial, informatic or the academic Departments. This inclusive approach brought innovative ideas and new perspectives that allowed the U.Porto to meet the needs and demands brought by the new program.
Within the framework of this project the U.Porto had approved 874 flows by the Erasmus+ National Agency having achieved to implement a total of 1098 mobility flows with the same financial support. This extremely positive result resulted in an increase of more than 25% of the total number of flows/scholarships allocated.
Additionally it is also worth mentioning the fact that following the U.Porto’s internationalization strategy for the cooperation within the EU, which states the relevance in consolidating the cooperation within the European Higher Education Area, through this project, the U.Porto was able to clearly attain this objective.
The high number of well selected partners and the matching of the partners’ offer with the candidates’ profiles (having into consideration the priority areas and the targeted groups: carefully planning the mobility activities for staff and for students in first, second and third cycles for study and training activities), created solid grounds and were of the utmost relevance for the positive results achieved. This solid foundation allowed the successful implementation of a mobility scheme in almost all countries of the Programme, thus, reaching a wide geographical diversity.
The know-how acquired over the implementation of this project, namely the close work of cooperation developed with the partner institutions, companies and other organizations and the joining together of the different competencies of the Institutions involved, offering a wide spectrum of opportunities and complementarities, brought a richness and an impact that will be felt beyond the scope of this project. Such positive outcomes will definitely be transferred to other projects in the future, thus, ensuring the sustainability of the cooperation links established within this project.
