Higher education student and staff mobility project

In the period of time from 01.06.2014 until 31.05.2016 Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Zawodowa (*State Higher School of Vocational Education) in Sulechów was implementing Erasmus project + KA103 – The mobility of students and employees of higher education institutions. The project included the following actions: 2 SMS mobilities, 4 SMP mobilities, 1 STA mobility and 1 STT mobility. The objectives of the program: With regard to students going abroad to study: completing part of their studies in a foreign partner university, international mobility, active functioning in European social and economic zone, coming into contact with challenges of contemporary Europe, namely, respecting culture distinctiveness of member states and social justice. With regard to students going abroad for placement: verification of their theoretical knowledge with practical solutions which are implemented on European labour market, active participation in vocational area, acquiring new skills. With regard to employees of higher education institutions: improving skills and qualifications necessary at work, exchanging experiences and implementing tasks with active use of human potential, broadening knowledge in a certain domain, getting familiar with good practices of a foreign educational institution, developing own skills, raising qualifications connected with the type of work performed, transferring acquired skills to home educational institution. The project was implemented in accordance with basic principles described in ECHE charter, including equal treatment of all participants of the project and establishing clear recruitment rules, and in accordance with the requirements of Erasmus + settled by NA of Erasmus + Program for a given academic year. The main criteria for selecting candidates were: student’s high motivation to obtain a placement or continue studies in a receiving institution, a profile of a receiving institution and the scope of work which was as close as possible to a student’s field of study and specialization, good command of a foreign language. The project enjoyed high popularity especially among students of power engineering. The following mobilities were implemented within the framework of the project: 1 SMS mobility- a power engineering student studied in Denmark, 4 SMP mobilities – 4 power engineering students went for a placement to Germany, including one graduate, 2 STT mobilities – 2 persons employed in administration sector went for a language training to Germany. Additionally, 2 students took part in a language course in order to improve their language command. The main objectives of the program which among others included: raising the level of knowledge and competence, acquiring European experience, personal development, increasing own chances at a job market, gaining new experiences, functioning in European economic and social zone, promoting own educational institution, getting to know new cultures – have been achieved. Both students going abroad for placement and studies, and employees going for training expressed their satisfaction and enjoyment from the mobility, which means that the program of studies, placement and training was well adopted to the abilities and profile of the participants. It also shows a good co-operation with foreign partners and a good preparation of mobility by this educational institution.
