Higher education student and staff mobility project

General Tadeusz Kosciuszko Military Academy of Land Forces (MALF) joined Programme LLP Erasmus in 2009. Actions conducted by the academy within the Erasmus+ Programme aim at enabling, popularizing and promoting international mobility of students, administrative staff and teaching staff of the academy. To do this, information actions aimed at all potential beneficiaries, promotion the possibility of participation and advantages from taking part in the Erasmus Programme were carried out. These actions are conducted by means of websites of the academy (social media included), printed materials, information meetings and activities undertaking by Erasmus Student Network (ESN). Within the Erasmus Programme MALF carries out actions in the range of: • Students of Bachelor’s and Master’s studies mobility – studies (SMS). • Students of Bachelor’s and Master’s studies mobility – training (SMP). • Academic teaching mobility in order to run classes at partner universities (STA) . • Staff mobility for training (STT). Mobilities undertaken in the frame of Erasmus+ programme, contribute to the development of essential competence as well as to the growth of understanding and cultural sensibility and building a common European identity. Actions conducted within the Erasmus+ Programme contribute activities related to building the open and international organizational culture of MALF - on of the strategic goal, which is achived by Academy thanks to participation in Erasmus+ Programme. Moreover, thanks to the project MALF systematically develops international cooperation, not only with the military academies but also universities, whose profile and fields of study are similar to the area of educational offer predented by MALF. Thanks to the implemented project activities, including mobility measures, the University raised, the quality of education provided for both WSOWL students and students from partner universities. In the end this activities influences on both long term impacts and added values of the project such as: • Student mobility and training contribute to the development of their abilities to cooperating and functioning in the international environment. They improve their language skills and give unique knowledge of a scientific discipline chosen by them. • Academic staff taking part in the exchange gain possibilities to develop their competence and improve their language abilities. Closer contacts with other representatives of their disciplines result also in the development of international cooperation, as common conferences and research projects. It is conductive to the improvement of the quality of academic education offered to students. • Thanks to mobility for training and studies, academic staff gain an opportunity to develop their competence in the organizational activity. Such actions are conductive to have better training and exchange experience between representatives of different institutions. Also the visits in MALF of representatives of foreign universities are for this aim. During these visits different experience and academic education systems are discussed. Actions taken in this range are conductive to improve the university management and functioning. As a long-term benefits related to the project is also increasing quality in the frame of partnership relation between MALF and European universities, especially those one which are military academies. The add value of this cooperation is for example common project in the frame of Action 2 – Strategic Partnership. What is important, there were 72 application forms, only 11 were awarded in the call from 2015 . Project “Creating international semester regarding military education needs for future officers in Europe" was on the third position. Since October 2015 mentioned above project has been successfully conducted. From year to year MALF is trying to extend the number of partners institutions. Thanks to MALF’s open attitude on the international higher education stage, the partners institutions are ready to cooperate not only in the frame of mobility activities but also in the frame of common activities focused on different educational project.
