Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: May 31, 2016 PROJECT  FINISHED

The general objectives of the implementation of the project under Erasmus Plus Programme included those written into the internationalization strategy of the University: - to consolidate and increase the mobility of students and University staff - to acquire new partners - universities and enterprises (four new acquisitions have been made) - to develop new areas of cooperation with partners - to encourage students to become active in terms of improving their language competences, personality and professional skills, and to stimulate them to undertake collaborative actions, e.g. organizing events, looking after foreign students - to improve language skills and professional competences of the staff – mobility participants - to encourage partner universities from countries other than the EU to join Erasmus Plus - to inform students and staff on a regular basis of the benefits of the implementation of the Programme, the benefits from participation for an individual participant and the University as a whole, to inform University’s business partners and candidates. - expanding the catalogue of subjects taught in English The following objectives have been achieved: - partial mobility - the objective was realized only partially in terms of student mobility due to objective factors which prevent mobility (most students do extramural programmes and combine studying with work - going on a scholarship would require them to give up their jobs; other reasons include: having to pay the tuition fee at WSZOP despite studying abroad, the difficult political situation in Europe - immigrants); the mobility of University employees was carried out as planned. Overall, 9 people participated in the mobilities (four students and five employees) - the requirement to prepare modules taught in English and the staff’s (and students’ – to some extent) previous participation in mobilities have largely facilitated the preparation of a wider range of subjects and starting a full course of study conducted in English - a common curriculum has been developed for Philology with the partner university in Istanbul – it is currently awaiting assessment by the Ministry of Higher Education in Turkey; along with the Universities of Portugal and Croatia, WSZOP has applied twice for funding under the Strategic Partnership for Higher Education - students have participated in the promotional program – videos, a postcard from Erasmus on the University website, photo-exhibition, providing information to interested parties, looking after foreign students who study at WSZOP. Outcome: - the University is perceived as an international partner - the staff show greater involvement in the preparation of an increasingly wider range of subjects taught in English - the University authorities are engaged in facilitating the acquisition of higher language skills; - the University authorities strive to expand accommodation facilities to be used by students and foreign workers
