Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

This project is a mobility project for higher education students staff with programme countries and during the project period it has benefit a large number of students and staff members. Financial and administrative organization as well as reporting and evaluation are done according to financer’s guidelines. The results of the project are disseminated by using various channels. Internationality is inscribed in the strategy of our university and the strategy aims at deepening our collaboration with selected partners. When bilateral agreements are signed it is important for us to evaluate whether the partnership will add value to our quest in fulfilling strategic goals. We also pay attention to the variety of the partner’s course offerings to our students as well the quality of support services for mobile students and staff. Bilateral agreement proposals come from degree programmes and drafts are worked on together with the international services. Most of TAMK students are first cycle students and naturally most of our mobility happens during that phase. TAMK has also put emphasis on increasing mobility during the second cycle. The international mobility among staff is interwoven into TAMK’s general staff development planning and aims at dare eepening international knowhow, resulting in exchangeable course content planning, implementation and projects. In the new Erasmus + programme period TAMK has further developed joint and double degrees with selected partners. Also wellbeing of students and staff is at the forefront of measures outlined in our strategy – to make TAMK an attractive place to work and study. Wide cooperation networks enable mobility among students and experts and assist in building a genuinely international learning environment. All students and staff members are offered the possibility to take part in exchanges abroad. With the help of mobility documentation we want ensure that participants can transfer the successful exchange period as part of their studies in home university. International Services provide information on exchange possibilities for both outgoing and incoming students and staff. Services also administer international cooperation agreements and assist degree programmes in international mobility projects, organisation of international weeks and creation of new contacts. International Services also organise orientations for both incoming and outgoing students and trainees and coordinate tutoring of international exchange students in cooperation with the student union. During the project period 2014-15 the number of mobilities stayed approximately in a same level than in 2013-14. The outgoing student mobility for studies increased 1 % but the number of outgoing student for traineeship decreased 12 %. In staff mobility for teaching the decrease was 14 % but in staff mobility for training the increased was 3 %. The incoming student mobility for studies decreased 7 % but the incoming student mobility for traineeship increased 15 %.These kinds of small changes in mobilities are quite normal. In coming years we would like see more increase in all mobilities and the whole university is committed to this goal.
