Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The Ecole supérieure des beaux-arts Tours Angers Le Mans (Esba TALM) has developed for a few years its partnerships under the Erasmus/Erasmus+ programme. Cooperations have been set up by each campus of the school (Tours, Angers, Le Mans), before the 3 campuses gathered into a single institution in 2010. Since 2011, the partnerships with academic institutions and organisms have been merged and new ones have been developped. Esba TALM?s objectives in the frame of its participation to the Erasmus+ programme have been the following ones for 2014-2015: - Offer to the students the possibility, thanks to an Erasmus mobility, to widen their professional skills in order to improve their access to the fields of creation, research and innovation - Increase the quality of mobilities, especially by improving the way of assisting beneficiaries and monitoring projects : detailed information about partnerships thanks to the inter institutionnal agreements, linguistic support etc - Benefit from the Erasmus mobilities to develop artistic projects through networks with other European institutions in shared disciplines (such as ceramics) - Benefit from the mobilities to confront our pedagogy, administration and organisation with the partners? in order to modernize our own working system. Esba TALM would like to encourage the outgoing and incoming student mobilities. Each year since 2011-2012, about 20 students have benefited from an Erasmus mobility and an average of 6 students has been welcomed for a study period in our school. In 2014-2015, 15 students made an Erasmus mobility : 12 study periods and 3 traineeships, for a total of 9 men and 6 women. The students concerned are mainly in their 4th year of study, and come from our 3 campuses. The study periods have lasted one semester and the average lenght of traineeships was 3 months. Four students have been welcomed at Esba TALM in the art and design options (2 men and 2 women). Regarding the staff, in 2014-2015 6 mobilities were made (for an usual average number of 3 each year) : 2 teaching mobilities and 4 training mobilities (?work shadowing?), for a total of 5 women and 1 man. Four teachers in art and conservation-restoration of sculpted works options and 2 administrative staff members (who are at the same time assistant director and administrative referrers) have been concerned. The results and impacts achieved have been the following ones : - For outgoing students : development of their artistic and research practices and immersion into a very rich linguistic and intercultural context, acquisition of key competences for their employment integration - For outgoing staff: added-value at work thanks to the comparison of their skills and know how with their counterparts in partner schools - For Esba TALM : momentum generated by the students and staff at their return to school thanks to the skills acquired and shared with their peers, a better insight into the own educational and organisational workings of the school. On the long run, the Erasmus projects made in 2014-2015 benefit to Esba TALM through the following ways : - Improvement of information given to participants thanks to the new and more detailed tools of the Erasmus+ programme since 2014-2015 (mobility documents and inter institutionnal agreements) - Development of the ability for Esba TALM to cooperate in Europe and outside Europe, beyond the Erasmus mobilities, in particular in the framework of double diploma and post diploma projects with partner schools and synergies with the world of companies and Research - Enhancement of our qualification levels in order to participate in the training of high-ranking professional artists and researchers in Europe.
