Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The objectives aimed at disseminating the Erasmus+ programme to medical students, considering the particularities imposed by a study field such as medicine. The entire process, starting with the selection of the participants and continuing throughout the entire mobility period, was based on total transparency and the maintenance of a high qualitative standard. The information about the program was made public on the university website, at the faculty notice boards and at the Office for Community Programmes. We organised three interviews in order to attract more participants. Following the interviews, 36 participants were selected. The Office for Community Programmes sent the student nominations to the partner universities, the candidates submitted the online applications (where applicable) and they drew up their learning agreements. Although all the quality standards were observed, starting with the selection of the candidates, continuing through the carrying out and monitoring of the mobility activities, and ending with the recognition of the results obtained during the mobility, from a quantitative point of view, there was a decrease in the number of candidates. This quantitative decrease is due to the difference between the curriculum of certain European countries (modular curriculum) and the curriculum used in most Romanian universities (linear curriculum). The participants have continual support from the moment they submit their files up to the moment they return from mobility. The Office for Community Programmes is in permanent contact with the partner universities, helps the students to fill in their learning/traineeship agreements and organizes meetings with former Erasmus students. On the other hand, the university was successful as far as incoming students were concerned, their total number reaching 20 (15 SMS, 5 SMP). The incoming students are helped even before the start of their mobility, both in drawing up their learning/traineeship agreements and in finding accommodation (with the help of ESN Timisoara). After the start of the mobility, the incoming students are constantly monitored, the Office for Community Programmes being in contact both with the students and with the departments where they have to carry out their mobility. With the signing of new bilateral agreements and with the fact that in future students will be able to participate in a mobility for a full academic year, we are convinced that the number of the participants, both incoming and outgoing, will increase and the programme will gain popularity among our outgoing students.
