Higher education student and staff mobility project
Start date: Jun 1, 2014, End date: Sep 30, 2015 PROJECT  FINISHED

The scope of the project was to realize students' as well as staff members? mobilities. The possibilities that are related with the realization of the Erasmus+ Programme correspond with the Mission and the Internationalization Strategy of the School of Administration. These documents stress the cooperation with renowned European universities as well as expanding the cooperation agreements that have so far been signed with partner universities and focus on supporting the staff members? and students' mobility, developing international research projects and creating partnership and academic cooperation network. Taking into account all the advantages that are related to the location of Bielsko-Bia?a, the School of Administration looks after the very special relations with the universities situated in the countries which are our southern neighbours or which are located in the Beskydy Euroregion. In addition, our priorities are: breaking down barriers and traditional prejudices as well as building positive relations between people of different nationalities, religions and views in order to make the School of Administration a very expansive and significant academic centre of the region. All of these goals are corresponding with the project and are partly realized due to the possibilities of the Erasmus+ Programme, namely: the chances of students? and staff members? mobilities. For the academic year 2014/2015 the following mobilities have been planned: 1 student mobility for studies, 5 students? mobilities for placements, 2 staff mobilities for teaching and 5 staff mobilities for training. However, not all of them have been realized, the School of Administration has done its best in order to promote all types of mobilities. During the time of the project?s realization the number of mobilities has been reduced twice (Annex no. 1 and Annex no.2 to the Agreement) and as a consequence one student mobility and two staff member mobilities for training have been realized. The student who was studying at the partner university (The University of Ostrava) decided to prolong his Erasmus Stay for the summer semester and as a result his mobility lasted 8 months. This situation can be perceived as one of the most positive aspect of the project. Additionally, two of our staff members have decided to take a chance of the mobility for training (The Catholic University in Ruzomberok). The mobilities can have been realized due to the fact that the School of Administration strongly encouraging its staff member to take part in the Erasmus+ Programme has organized the English language course for them. The offer of linguistic support has been prepared in order to break down barriers and take up mobility challenges Among the most important long term impacts of the project that should be stressed here, we have to mention the possibility of staying abroad for a few months. This possibility, that is offered to the students, is sometimes their first opportunity of living on their own in another county, with another linguistic, societal and cultural context. It has to also be mentioned that this possibility gives them a chance to acquire competencies that are currently essential at the globalized labour market. In addition, the project has contributed to the professionalization of the staff, the improvement of its linguistic and intercultural competencies. As a consequence, the project has also helped the staff with self-improvement, breaking down barriers and therefore improving the quality of the whole University. Due to the realization of the project, the School of Administration is visible in the international, globalized environment and can complete its Mission while developing creativity, the ability to think critically and acquiring competencies that are necessary in group working. All of them are essential while dealing with the challenges of the global labour market.
